Christian Dior unveils a "New Look", helping Paris regain its position as the capital of the fashion world.

Christian Dior SE (French: [kistj dj]), commonly known as Dior, is a French luxury fashion house controlled and chaired by French businessman Bernard Arnault, who also heads LVMH, the world's largest luxury group. Dior itself holds 42.36% shares of and 59.01% voting rights within LVMH.The company was founded in 1946 by French fashion designer Christian Dior, who was originally from Normandy. This brand just sells shoes and clothing and can only be bought in Dior stores. Haute couture is under the Christian Dior Couture division. Pietro Beccari has been the CEO of Christian Dior Couture since 2018.

Christian Dior (French: [kʁistjɑ̃ djɔʁ]; 21 January 1905 – 24 October 1957) was a French fashion designer, best known as the founder of one of the world's top fashion houses Christian Dior SE, which is now owned by parent company LVMH. His fashion houses are known all around the world, specifically "on five continents in only a decade" (Sauer). Dior is the second child to a family of seven, born to Maurice Dior and Madeleine Martin, in the town of Granville.

Dior's artistic skills has led to his employment and design for various well-known fashion icons in attempts to preserve the fashion industry during World War II. It was after World War II, that Dior has founded and established the Dior fashion house, with Dior's collection of the "New Look" revolutionised women's dress and contributed to the reestablishment of Paris as the centre of the fashion world. Throughout Dior's lifetime, Dior has won numerous awards for Best Costume Designs, and was tribute by various contemporary icons.
