Theodor Escherich (German pronunciation: [ˈteːodɔʁ ˈɛʃəʁɪç]; 29 November 1857 – 15 February 1911) was a German-Austrian pediatrician and a professor at universities in Graz and Vienna. He discovered and described the bacterium Escherichia coli.
