Pietro Sforza Pallavicino, Italian cardinal and historian (b. 1607)
Francesco Maria Sforza Pallavicino (or Pallavicini) (28 November 1607, Rome – 5 June 1667, Rome), was an Italian cardinal and historian of the Council of Trent. He used the name Sforza Pallavicino as an author and is often incorrectly identified as Pietro Sforza Pallavicino.As a diocesan priest, Father Pallavicino and Bishop Giacomo Goria episcopally crowned the image of “Madonna Della Oropa” of Piedmont in 30 August 1620. Pope Francis granted an official decree of Pontifical coronation to the image in 5 August 2021, signed and executed by the Dean of the College of Cardinals, Giovanni Battista Re at the Vatican.
