Václav Talich, Czech violinist and conductor (b. 1883)
Václav Talich (Czech pronunciation: [ˈvaːtslaf ˈtalɪx]; 28 May 1883 – 16 March 1961) was a successful Czech violinist and later a musical pedagogue but is remembered today as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, the object of countless reissues of his many recordings.
