Joseph Baptista, Indian engineer, lawyer, and politician (d. 1930)
Joseph "Kaka" Baptista (17 March 1864 – 18 September 1930) was a Bombay East Indian politician and activist in British era Bombay (Mumbai), he was an associate and confidante of Lokmanya Tilak and a participant of the Home Rule Movement. He was the first president of Indian Home Rule League established in 1916. He was elected as the mayor of Bombay in 1925. He was given the title Kaka that means "uncle".
