Misao Okawa, Japanese super-centenarian (d. 2015)
Japanese supercentenarians are citizens, residents or emigrants from Japan who have attained or surpassed the age of 110 years. As of January 2015, the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) had validated the longevity claims of 318 Japanese supercentenarians, most of them women. According to the GRG the oldest verified Japanese and Asian person ever is Kane Tanaka, born 2 January 1903, aged 119 years, 86 days, the third oldest person ever. Japan was also home to the world's oldest man ever, Jiroemon Kimura (1897–2013), who lived to age 116 years, 54 days.
