Vere St. Leger Goold, Irish tennis player (b. 1853)
Vere Thomas "St. Leger" Goold (2 October 1853 – 8 September 1909) was an Irish tennis player who competed for the 1879 Wimbledon grand final. He quickly faded from the game and took his own life on Devil's Island, where he was serving a life sentence for murder.
