Richard Gomez, Filipino actor and politician
Richard Frank Icasiano Gomez (born April 7, 1966) is a Filipino athlete, television presenter, actor, director and politician. He graduated from the University of the Philippines Open University (Associate in Arts, 2009) and the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (Masters in Business Administration, 2016). He earned a doctorate in public administration from the Cebu Technological University in 2019.Gomez assumed office as mayor of Ormoc City on June 30, 2016.Gomez was a leading actor in movies in the early 1990s and won several awards and nominations.
His rising stardom lead him to a career in films and as a leading man and Philippine Showbiz A-Lister in the late 80s and 90s he lead massive appeal in the TV sitcom Palibhasa Lalake with tandem John Estrada and Joey Marquez from 1987-1998 through ABS-CBN his last sitcom Richard Loves Lucy was a heavy weight top rater when it aired in 1997-2000 when his highly publicized marriage to Model and Politician Lucy Torres made waves throughout his career he was able to work with Movie Studios such as Regal Films Viva Films and Star Cinema he also made his way through hosting TV Game shows Family Feud and Whammy Push Your Luck and P.O.5and Hosting TV Magazine Format shows such as S Files on GMA-7 his comeback Comedy stint was with Lagot Ka Isusumbong Kita for its KiliTV line up with Joey Marquez after 7 years in 2012-2016 him and his original reel and real Loveteam partner Dawn Zulueta did two successful Primetime soaps such as Walang Hanggan (2012) and You’re my Home (2014-2015) successfully as well as there Big Screen reunion The Love Affair with Bea Alonzo under ABS CBN Film Production.
