Hamida Banu Begum, wife of the second Mughal emperor Humayun (b. 1527)
Hamida Banu Begum (c. 1527 – 29 August 1604), was a chief consort of the second Mughal emperor Humayun and the mother of his successor, the third Mughal emperor Akbar. She is also known by the title Maryam Makani (lit. 'of Mary's stature'), which was given to her by her son, Akbar.
