James A. Bayard (elder)

James A. Bayard, American lawyer and politician (b. 1767)
James Asheton Bayard Sr. (July 28, 1767 – August 6, 1815) was an American slave owner, lawyer and politician from Wilmington, Delaware. He was a member of the Federalist Party, who served as U.S. Representative from Delaware and U.S. Senator from Delaware.
