Juan de Zumárraga, Spanish-Mexican archbishop (b. 1468)
Don Juan de Zumárraga y Arrazola (1468 – June 3, 1548) was a Spanish Basque Franciscan prelate and first bishop and Inquisitor of Mexico. He wrote Doctrina breve, the first book published in the Western hemisphere by a European, printed in Mexico City in 1539.
