Gale Norton, American lawyer and politician, 48th United States Secretary of the Interior
Gale Ann Norton (born March 11, 1954) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 48th United States secretary of the interior under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2006. A member of the Republican Party, she previously served as the 35th Colorado attorney general from 1991 to 1999. Norton was the first woman to hold either post.
