Benoît Assou-Ekotto, French-Cameroonian footballer
Benoît Pierre David Assou-Ekotto (born 24 March 1984) is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a left back.
Assou-Ekotto began his career at Lens and in 2006 was signed by Tottenham Hotspur. He became a first-team regular for the Premier League side, totalling 200 appearances across all competitions. He was loaned to Queens Park Rangers in 2013 and released in 2015, after which he joined Saint-Étienne. The final club of his career was Ligue 1 side Metz.
Despite being born in France, Assou-Ekotto represented Cameroon at international level, participating in two FIFA World Cup tournaments.
