Charles Wyville Thomson

Charles Wyville Thomson, Scottish historian and zoologist (d. 1882)
Sir Charles Wyville Thomson (5 March 1830 – 10 March 1882) was a Scottish natural historian and marine zoologist. He served as the chief scientist on the Challenger expedition; his work there revolutionised oceanography and led to his knighthood.
