Martin Kukučín, Slovak author and playwright (d. 1928)
Martin Kukučín (real name Matej Bencúr, 17 May 1860, Jasenová, Oravská stolica – 21 May 1928) was a Slovak prose writer, dramatist and publicist. He was the most notable representative of Slovak literary realism, and is considered one of the founders of modern Slovak prose.
