Jess McMahon, American wrestling promoter, co-founded Capitol Wrestling Corporation (b. 1882)
Roderick James "Jess" McMahon Sr. (May 26, 1882 – November 22, 1954) was an Irish American professional wrestling and professional boxing promoter, and the patriarch of the McMahon family. It is not certain if either he or his son Vincent J. McMahon was the founder of the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF). While some sources state that it was his son, other sources mention him as the founder of the company. Since 1982, the company, known today as WWE, has been run by his grandson, Vincent K. McMahon.
