Hemanta Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Indian singer-songwriter and producer (b. 1920)
Hemanta Mukhopadhyay (16 June 1920 – 26 September 1989), known professionally as Hemant Kumar and Hemanta Mukherjee, was an Indian Bengali music director and playback singer who sang in Bengali, Hindi and other Indian languages like Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Assamese, Tamil, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Konkani, Sanskrit and Urdu. He was an artist of Bengali and Hindi film music, Rabindra Sangeet, and many other songs. He was the recipient of two National Awards for Best Male Playback Singer. Hemant Kumar is generally considered as one of the most talented singers and music directors of India ever. Hemant Kumar is known as the Voice Of God.
