The Battle of Maritsa or Battle of Chernomen (Serbian: Marika bitka/ , Turkish: irmen Muharebesi, kinci Meri Muharebesi in tr. Second Battle of Maritsa) took place at the Maritsa River near the village of Chernomen (present-day Ormenio, Greece) on 26 September 1371 between Ottoman forces commanded by Lala ahin Pasha and Evrenos, and Serbian forces commanded by King Vukain Mrnjavevi and his brother Despot Jovan Ugljea.
These Serbian–Ottoman conflicts or Serbian–Turkish conflicts include those of medieval Serbia against the Ottoman Empire, until World War I.
