Akshaya Tritiya is a spring festival celebrated annually by Hindus and Jains. The third lunar day of Vaisakha –the second month of the Indian calendar– marks the celebration date, which concurs with April or May in the Gregorian calendar. It is widely celebrated in India and Nepal, as it betokens perennial prosperity.
