In the UAE, the National Day falls on the 2nd of December, and it commemorates the unification of the seven emirates in 1971 –forming the current country; the United Arab Emirates– on the hands of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, also colloquially referred to as the Father of the Nation.
